In an age of insatiable voyeuristic desire, rampant mass surveillance, and cyber-exhibitionism we have become a society conditioned to transmit and receive images, sound, and information at lightning speed. Over 1.85 million CCTV (closed-circuit television) cameras exist in the United Kingdom alone, with tens of thousands more scattered across the globe. Television networks are littered with "reality" programming. The Internet increasingly facilitates the dissemination of our private worlds, through social networks and micro-blogging.
In response to this deluge of social media and watching, The Drums are pleased to announce the premier of Visiomento, a new series of broadcasts from our very own private CCTV network. Through Visiomento, we will offer a candid and intimate glimpse inside of our studio. We will feature special guest appearances and interviews with artists and musicians we admire. We will broadcast in-studio performances of songs from our new album, Portamento. We will discuss curious topics of interest and provide you with news and updates relating to The Drums.
We submit our selves to the cyber-airwaves, and surrender to transmission.
Tune in to Visiomento for a new episode every Tuesday.
